History of Building

Golden Hills Elementary School, home of the Eagles, opened its doors in 1976 as part of the Papillion La Vista Community Schools district's continued expansion. Proudly displaying blue and gold as its colors, the school was named after the Golden Hills housing development in western Papillion, reflecting the rapid growth in this area of the city.

Since its establishment, Golden Hills has been known for its innovative approach to education. The school has implemented various forward-thinking programs over the years, including early adoption of STEM initiatives and project-based learning. These educational approaches exemplify the district's motto "Be Known for Greatness" and demonstrate the school's commitment to nurturing each student's potential for excellence.

In 2012, the school received further renovations, including front entry remodeling for improved security, accessibility upgrades, and kitchen enhancements.
